Socks 05:34
(Schwartz) And all the time with yours and mine His and hers, the old design It was fun for a while but now it's not And I don't think you know just what I got When I got warm, they got cold A disorderly sight not to behold The wicked were with wondrous ways But never taught me just how to play With seconds to win and seconds to lose I should always stay but sometimes move These things I think are thoughts of a thief But as corruption moves up it gets harder to prove In the office chair I swivel and turn Doing my work and starting to learn Entries and exits from this maze I'm counting down to the end of days Why can't I seem to find my socks? It really stinks, though it happens quite a lot Where do they go when they're not on my feet? Do they cry or do they sleep? Do they die, ride away in a hearse Or is it only this second verse? I don't know but I'd like to find out Do you think you could bring that about? Listening to my stereo play My lights turn off when I say My computer screen is my only friend But it's my enemy in the end My brain is alive, my brain is dead I think I heard just what they said It doesn't matter, it's only the phone And I work better when I'm on my own I turn and wink and wink and turn The promotion I get I didn't earn My emotions escape and beat me down They don't like it when they're around My brain is alive, my brain is dead I think I heard just what they said Something something, it's only the phone And I work better when I'm all alone Why can't I seem to find my socks? It really stinks, though it happens quite a lot Where do they go when they're not on my feet? Do they cry or do they sleep? Do they die, ride away in a hearse Or is it something much, much worse?

(Schwartz) I'm trying to reach you, my friend Don't you want these means to your ends? Cause I see you float on and out Don't you want to get turned around? Cause I see this happen every damn day I know what they think and I know what they say “That I'm not worth nothing, I'm wrong every way But that's who I am, and that's who I'll stay.” Said that's not the right way to go Trust me son cause I know I'm the same as you Just without all the blood and tattoos Said “you don't know nothing about me and my friends We got the streets while you got the pens.”
Don't talk like that or I'll send you away Said that's where you'll go, and that's where you'll stay Oh I'm tired Tired of lies And I cannot work And they cannot win So I'll sleep now Sleep till the end To pay my own bills And let it begin
Again I want the rains to come wash me away Take up my roots but save what they save I think it's important, though wrong every way But that's who I am, and that's who I'll stay

(Schwartz) So this is our house on the corner of Maynard and Third Don't look like much, and it ain't if you haven't heard But this is where we live I'm locked up in a room, though that lock don't really work I'm tired, I said I'd fix it babe, but damn my head it hurts From you all damn day And every night there will be something to fight about Of that you can be sure And every time there will be something to cry about Make you crawl back to my door We could go through to make me hate you If that's what you had in mind Don't care about where you go, don't care about who you see Don't care if you've got another man who’s got some strange disease Cause you and I are through

(Schwartz) Deep inside of his own dark secrets That's where the devil found his gun Now I don't think that he went down there looking Least not for destruction But we all find our own way Roger Bentley is a man like any other He sings a healthy baritone He sings on Sundays and he sings to himself But he needs something to call his own How many Rogers do you know? Well now, where could we find? Hey man, tell me what you do Tell me how you can Babe won't you tell me your name Now that we've been acquainted for some time You've always been around the ground I stand upon But I don't know a thing about your life

Left Behind 05:42
(Schwartz) Looking in my rear view mirror I can see the road And the cars, and the people Standing in the smoke Some people say that I don't care I will say to them How right, but not fair Brothers and others Can carry on my name But people, like sheep all Walk and talk the same So if you want to leave behind Something that is worthwhile Make your plans to take a stand You carpenters and pedophiles I roll down my powered window To let in the wind I'm cooling off and feeling great But I can smell the sin
Some people say get up and help now I will say to them It's hard with my flatscreen turned up so loud Brothers and others Can carry on my name But people, like sheep all Walk and talk the same So if you want to leave behind Something that is worthwhile Make your plans to take a stand You bricklayers and audiophiles

(Gottlieb) It was a long time ago when the earth was new and history was young One man with a plan and only the sweater on his back was born Willard was his name, music was his game, and he was destined for greatness Who cares about that? All that matters is the Weeping Willards are back Well his hair is red and parents are dead Not really, they're standing right there He's the brains, he's the brawn, he's everything in one He's Danny, Danny Abowd He loves those Beatles Well they were brothers throughout life, although not when they were born They're JIsaac They play trumpet, bass, guitar But all they really want to do is play the drums Maybe someday their siblings will marry And they'll become Brothers-in-law With their powers combined they form the greatest band on the planet Well by now you probably know who I'm talking about Why yes, that's right We're the Weeping Willards! Oh yeah everyone cares Look at us, yeah the Weeping Willards are here

(Schwartz) If I woke up one day and my skin just wouldn't tan I'd say that that's just fine, I'll take my freckles any day If I woke up one day and my two legs were different lengths I'd say that that's all right cause it's just part of who I am If I woke up one day and my wrist wouldn't stop to hurt I'd teach myself to sing and tell myself that there's still music to be made If I woke up one day and my eyes wouldn't start to work I'd teach myself to listen to all the sounds

(Schwartz) I don't know what it is that I see I don't know what it means to me I don't know what it is that you know I don't know if it matters So I'm trying hard I'm trying hard for you I don't know what it do to me I see a person but I don't see I think it's weird but I guess it's neat It makes me sit so uncomfortably In my chair My skin is tingling No matter what we can never win I think I'm wrong because I'm in I like them all cause I love your skin So there's no winning just where you've been And I want to know Just what it means to you So I'm trying hard And my skin is tingling
